Boise Dental Tips For A Wedding Smile Makeover

Bright is in the Beach

Wedding season is just around the corner! Between finding the perfect venue, picking out your dream dress, and hand selecting the perfect flower arrangements, planning a wedding is no easy feat. In fact, it can be quite stressful! While a bride has a number of things to worry about before her big day, stressing about her smile shouldn’t be one of them.

At Summit Dental, we know every bride wants the perfect smile on her wedding day. A wedding smile makeover can fix imperfections like missing, broken or chipped teeth, and unwanted stains. That’s why we’ve put together a list of treatment options to guarantee your smile will shine on one of the most important days of your life.

Treatments & Procedures

The treatments and procedures included in your wedding smile makeover will vary depending on your individual needs and concerns. At Summit Dental, we will provide you with a detailed treatment plan custom tailored to your specific needs. Some of the treatments we offer as part of a wedding smile makeover include, (but aren’t limited to):

Boise Teeth Cleaning

A regular Boise teeth cleaning by a dental hygienist is recommended to remove tartar that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing. There are some areas of the mouth that are difficult to reach with a regular toothbrush and floss. A professional Boise teeth cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing. If there is a large amount of tartar buildup, sometimes other instruments are used also to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth. It is recommended that teeth be professionally cleaned at least one to two times per year. More frequent cleaning may be necessary if other dental or oral problems are present.

During a dental exam, your Boise dentist or hygienist will clean your teeth and identify any underlying oral health problems as well as evaluate your risk of developing tooth decay. These exams are important in preventing future problems like bad breath & gum disease while giving your Boise dentist the opportunity of detecting any problems before they become more serious.

Boise Teeth Whitening

Many people consider white teeth to be an attractive feature of a smile. Teeth whitening is a common procedure many brides request. At Summit Dental Boise, we provide multiple methods for a whitening treatment.

  • At-home tray whitening– This procedure involves the patient wearing a custom dental tray for approximately 30 minutes per day, while at home until desired results occur.
  • Crest Professional White Strips– These white strips are 4 times stronger and faster than the store bought brand Crest White Strips.

Boise Dental Implants

If you have one or more missing teeth, dental implants are often a superior option compared to traditional treatments such as bridges or partial dentures. Implants are permanently placed in the jaw and do not require any special cleaning procedures besides normal brushing and flossing. They are similar in form and function to natural teeth and can replace one or more damaged or missing teeth.

Boise Dental Veneers

If you have Boise dental problems like tooth discoloration, uneven teeth or gaps between your teeth, a beautiful smile on your wedding day can seem like an unreachable goal. However, thanks to porcelain veneers your smile can get a mini-makeover in as little as one or two office visits to your downtown Boise dentist.

Dental veneers are used to repair chipped, broken, cracked, or discolored teeth. A veneer is a thin porcelain shell that is bonded over the top of a damaged tooth to resolve any unwanted aesthetic issues. Veneers are also used to help close gaps between teeth or reform oddly shaped teeth as well.

Boise Crowns and Bridges

If a tooth is cracked, damaged or has a large filling that has failed, a crown is the preferred method of restoration. A crown is essentially used to cap, or completely cover a tooth. Crowns can be made by a dentist to match the color of the patient’s tooth, giving a natural look, and restoring the normal function of the tooth.

Like crowns, a dental bridge is also a method of restoration. However, a bridge is used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or other dental implants.
