Introducing a Revolutionary Treatment in Orthodontics with the Invisalign® System

Looking in the mirror or at your old photos makes you insecure because some teeth are not in line with the rest. Yet, when you think about orthodontics, you aren’t ready to commit to years of treatment with conspicuous metal braces. What if we told you there is another way to straighten teeth comfortably and discreetly? Would you be open to exploring this option?

Summit Dental Group in Boise, Idaho, uses Invisalign treatment — the most advanced clear aligner system — to straighten your smile subtly and conveniently using removable, minimally visible aligners. Teens and adults prefer this system because it can easily slot into their everyday lifestyle without causing fuss and embarrassment.

What to expect from Invisalign treatment

Invisalign can treat numerous dental issues, including malocclusion, overcrowded, and gapped teeth. However since orthodontic issues vary, you must visit an Invisalign dentist for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Once we examine your bite and teeth and determine eligibility for Invisalign, the rest of the procedure involves the steps below.

  • Digital scans: Instead of messy, physical impressions, we use a comfortable, intraoral camera to take impressions of your mouth. Digital scanning is not only comfortable but delivers super-accurate images of your dentition for precise treatment
  • 3D simulation: We feed your digital scans into sophisticated Invisalign technology to preview your treatment plan. This technology allows us to create a 3D simulation of your mouth before, during, and after treatment. This way, you can see how your smile will look like after treatment. This tech also helps us to predict your treatment timeline
  • Fabricating aligners: Our Invisalign lab uses your digital molds to fabricate your bespoke aligners. Each set of aligners is worn for an average of two weeks before moving to the next in line. This pattern continues until you achieve the desired smile

While Invisalign trays are removable, you must wear them for at least 20-22 hours daily. You should only remove your aligners when eating, as this can stain them. However, you can drink water with your aligners. Also, remove your teeth straighteners when cleaning your teeth for optimal oral hygiene.

Benefits of Invisalign treatment

Traditional braces have pesky wires and brackets that rub against the cheeks and gums, causing sores. Invisalign trays are made from the tried and tested SmartTrack material. This material is smooth and flexible, making the trays comfortable to wear. What’s more, custom-made Invisalign trays fit snugly over your teeth for optimal comfort.

The other perks of this orthodontic system include the following:

  • Subtle treatment — Invisalign trays are minimally visible, so you straighten your teeth without anyone noticing
  • No dietary restrictions — hard and chewy foods are off the menu when using traditional braces. However, clear aligners allow you to eat all your favorite foods. Since the aligners are removable, you simply take them out and wear them back after enjoying your food
  • Easy oral maintenance — flossing and brushing teeth with metal braces can be a nightmare. Invisalign aligners don’t disrupt your teeth cleaning process — just remove your trays, complete your oral hygiene, and wear them back
  • Faster treatment — Invisalign is usually two times faster than traditional braces, although this varies from case to case
